About the author
Honor Raconteur grew up all over the United States and to this day is confused about where she’s actually from. She wrote her first book at five years old and hasn’t looked back since. Her interests vary from training service dogs, to studying languages, to arguing with her characters. On good days, she wins the argument.
Since her debut in September 2011, Honor has released multiple series, mostly of the fantasy genre. She writes full time from the comfort of her home office, in her pajamas, while munching on chocolate. She has no intention of stopping anytime soon and will probably continue until something comes along to disrupt her routine.
Her website can be found here: http://www.honorraconteur.com.

I really like how the stories in this series are stand alone novels, as you don't have to "wait until next time" to find out the ending and yet they are still linked to the previous ones. Like in this story, the heroine Sevana had encountered the Scofflaw Magician in the previous adventures but never quite put it together. I also like Sevana's growing connection to the Fae and that she is still taking unwanted children to them to adopt.
It was a nice surprise that the Fae "named" her, [I felt as stunned as Sevana :-)] and Aran was an unexpected but lovely addition, one wonders for future storylines.....
In all, a wonderful read and highly recommended to anyone that loves adventure, mystery, magic and quirky twists.
Quibble of the moment: a tendency to explain why a character is about to say or do what they then say or do. Nine times out of ten the event explains itself just fine.
Now -- on to the next adventure.
------ SPOILER ALERT ----------
I was surprised that she did not yell at the guys when they were drinking and playing cards, Also, Now that she has elf blood in her, does that mean her core has changed too? Will having elf blood help or hurt her in the future? Do you think there will be a romance between her and the elf guy? Will Baby mountain change because it has been healed by the elfs? If so, wonder how a mountain might change, maybe he could put in a hot spring in for her now or something.. That would be nice to have.
The last one in the series I was very disappointed in the ending. Very rushed. This one had the perfect amount of time devote to the storyline as it played out, as well as the conclusion.
The last section also gives the perfect setup for where we’re heading next in the adventures of Sevana.
And thanks to Raconteur for not succumbing to the latest trend of adding in useless filler pages, by going in depth about previous characters or events from the first two books of the series.
Unfortunately, there are typos, grammatical errors, missing words, incorrect structure in sentences. This is a huge problem in the Ebook world, and I don’t see how it’s ever going to get fixed. It slows the pace, the flow, everything, throwing off the reader when you come across these. I know I’m not the only one that finds this annoying. It’s constantly mentioned by other readers as well.
And there tends to be an overuse of certain phrases, names, slang, that goes hand in hand with the typos, etc. It’s poor editing all the way around!
There’s tools out there available for use, there’s people out there where this is their sole job. I highly recommend to any author, budding or veteran, if you take your writing seriously, and this is, or would like it to be, your main source of income, than PLEASE put these tools and such to use!! This is what editors, proofreaders, and grammar programs and apps are for.

The book is very well written and very well paced, the story is extremely interesting, it can be read as an stand alone but is a lot more enjoyable if you have read previous books, the characters are very well presented and the main character is amazing, this is not a perfect character and you see it and see how she deals with everything, it really makes for a very fun time to read this book.
Great book its all I can say, my only criticism is that the epilogue is too short, I'm a fan of the series and would have liked a longer one (personal preference)
seven more words necessary for a review...
Folgendes führt zur Abwertung:
1) Sevana betreibt Menschenhandel!
Ich will keine Kurzgeschichte!
No.
