I've been to Thailand multiple times over the years. I love the food, the beaches and, of course, the price differences. Imagine staying at 5 star hotels for the price of a Holiday Inn in the US, it boggles the mind. You'll actually feel fine ordering room service! That said, it is still a developing country and there are still pickpockets and petty thieves. This has led me to always bringing a new phone on my trips as I am pretty scared to lose my daily driver phone. Also, it's a Verizon phone and they are not known to work well anywhere outside the US, Canada and Mexico.
Enter the Doogee S96 GT. First, the specs flew out at me. 8GB of Ram and built-in 256Gb of storage? Awesome. A great camera with 4k video? Even better. But the SD card slot card really made it worthwhile. In a world where more and more companies are removing (heh) removable storage, being able to drop a 1TB SD card in a phone is a huge plus in my book. Next, I was planning on being on the beach, in the jungle and hiking all over. I needed something durable ,sandproof, dustproof and waterproof. Well this phone has all of those qualifications and a massive battery - which means less time inside charging and more time outside, taking pictures and lounging on the beach.
I started using this phone on the plane over to Thailand. The total flight time was 17 hours or so and I loaded the phone up with games, movies, tv-shows, music and emulators for the long haul. The phone was a champ, handling the first leg (14h) with about 1.5 recharges. Playing my SNES emulator, PS2 emulator or any media was a breeze. The phone didn't even heat up, though I wouldn't have minded as the plane was FREEZING. No glitches anywhere with the software either, I could play games and swap to videos or music without a hitch.
After handling Narita airport Wi-Fi like a champ, it accepted a Thailand AIS (local Thai phone carrier) sim card easily and provided strong mobile connectivity the entire time. Since it's a rugged phone, it had no issue being dropped onto the cobblestones of Bangkok or falling into the sand or water at the beach. I noticed no issues or visible damage to the phone even after 2 weeks of decent abuse. Overall, a great phone for travelers and as rugged and waterproof as described.

I would say this phone shocks me. I apologize for the bias against the phone carrying the android system Before. I would say I love this phone so much. I highly recommend this phone to anyone who wants to use an android phone. If you want the best phone carrying an android system, this is it. This phone has 4k resolution and it even has a game mode. You will love games in this gaming environment. What most surprises you are that this phone not only has a face ID but also a fingerprint ID. You can either unlock the phone using either face ID or fingerprint ID. Please don’t hesitate! Just buy it!

Having said this i still use my previous ip68 fone from a different brand (which i boycotted this time because I did not approve of the way they handled a warranty situation) which fell on this tile floor perhaps weekly! Im really disappointed and this doogee also had 2 over temp warnings. I live in the Caribbean.
Ive had way cheaper ip68 fones which were more tough and durable.
